What Is Teen Patti?
Teen Patti is a three-card comparing game that originated on the Indian subcontinent and is now one of the most-played card games in Bangladesh. The name means "three cards" and the core idea is straightforward: each player holds three cards and tries to hold the strongest hand at the table, or convinces the other players to fold before the showdown.
It plays best with three to six players, though online tables at mgame can seat more. Each round starts with a mandatory stake called the boot, which builds a pot that the winner collects. Players then bet in turns, either blind (without looking at their cards) or seen (after viewing their hand). The last player standing, or the one with the best hand at showdown, wins the pot.
What makes Teen Patti stick is the blend of simple rules and deep strategy. You can win with a weak hand if you read your opponents correctly, and you can lose a strong hand to someone willing to hold their nerve longer than you.
All amounts on mgame are in Bangladeshi Taka (৳). The minimum deposit is ৳450 and the minimum withdrawal is ৳700. Deposits land in your account in about 1 minute via bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Upay or bank transfer.
Hand Rankings — Strongest to Weakest
Knowing which hand beats which is non-negotiable. Here are all eight hands in order from the highest to the lowest. A Trail (three of a kind) is the best possible hand; a High Card is the lowest.
| Rank | Hand Name | What It Is | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Trail (Trio) | Three cards of the same value | A-A-A | Three Aces beat three Kings |
| 2 | Pure Sequence | Three consecutive cards, same suit | A-2-3 ♠ | Also called Straight Flush |
| 3 | Sequence (Run) | Three consecutive cards, mixed suits | 7-8-9 (mixed) | A-2-3 is the highest run; 2-3-4 is the second highest |
| 4 | Color (Flush) | Three cards of the same suit, not in sequence | K-9-5 ♥ | Highest card decides tie-breaks |
| 5 | Pair | Two cards of the same value | Q-Q-7 | Higher pair wins; same pair, the kicker decides |
| 6 | High Card | None of the above | A-9-4 | Highest card wins; then second, then third |
A Trail of 2-2-2 beats every Sequence, every Flush, every Pair. If you are dealt three of a kind, play it confidently — but remember it is rare, so do not bluff too often by acting as if you have one.
How Betting Rounds Work
Once cards are dealt, the action moves clockwise from the player to the left of the dealer. Each player has four choices on their turn:
| Action | What It Means | When to Use It |
|---|---|---|
| Bet (Blind) | Add to the pot without viewing your cards. The bet equals the current stake. | To apply pressure early or conserve hand information |
| Bet (Seen) | After viewing your cards, match or raise the current stake. Seen players always bet double what a blind player bets at the same round. | Once you have decided to continue with your hand |
| Pack (Fold) | Surrender your hand and exit the round. You lose your contribution to the pot so far. | When the hand is too weak to defend or the cost of continuing is too high |
| Show (Sideshow) | Ask the previous seen player to compare hands privately. The weaker hand folds. Both players must be seen to request a show. | To eliminate one opponent without increasing the pot further |
The round ends when only one player remains, or when two seen players agree to a final showdown. The player who shows the stronger hand wins the entire pot. At a live mgame table, the dealer (a real human on camera) collects the pot and distributes it immediately.
Boot, Stake and Pot
Before cards are dealt, every player puts in the boot — the starting forced bet. The boot builds the initial pot. As the round progresses, each player's bet must be at least equal to the current stake. The stake doubles whenever a seen player calls a blind player's bet. This is what makes Teen Patti pots grow quickly even on small-stake tables.
Live Tables vs RNG Tables — What Changes?
On mgame you can play Teen Patti at two types of tables. The experience and strategy differ enough that it is worth knowing before you sit down.
| Feature | Live Dealer Table | RNG Table |
|---|---|---|
| Dealer | Real human, streamed from a studio | Software-controlled, instant deal |
| Game Pace | Moderate — real cards are shuffled and dealt | Fast — no physical cards, no wait time |
| Atmosphere | Chat function, real voices, social feel | Solo, quiet, good for practice |
| Bet Range | Usually higher minimum, broader maximum | Often starts at ৳1 per hand — suitable for beginners |
| Variants | Classic, Joker Teen Patti, One Day Teen Patti | Classic, Speed, Bet-on variants |
| Provider Examples | Red Tiger, Sexy Gaming | CQ9, PG Soft, Playtech |
| Best For | Players who want the full table experience | New players learning the game |
For your first few sessions on mgame, the RNG tables let you play at your own pace without the time pressure of a live round. Once you are confident in the hand rankings and betting sequence, move to a live dealer table for the real atmosphere.

Beginner Tips Worth Knowing Before You Bet
These are practical points, not vague advice. If you read this section and apply even two or three of them, your first session on mgame will go noticeably better.
Start Blind — Then Learn to Read the Round
Playing blind keeps your cost per round lower while you learn how other players bet. Most experienced players look at their cards quickly, but as a beginner, staying blind for one or two rounds is a valid way to gauge the table's energy without overcommitting.
Fold Early on a High-Card Hand
A High-Card hand with no pair, flush or sequence rarely wins at a contested table. Folding early saves your stack for a better hand. The pot you give up now is smaller than the pot you might chase with a losing hand across five more betting rounds.
Know the Wagering Requirement on Bonuses
The 215% welcome bonus at mgame carries an 11× wagering requirement. That means if you deposit ৳1,000 and claim ৳2,150 bonus, you need to wager ৳(1,000 + 2,150) × 11 before withdrawing bonus-derived winnings. Teen Patti hands count toward this — check the bonus terms for exact game contribution rates.
Use the Sideshow Strategically
A sideshow request is a private showdown between you and the previous seen player. If you have a strong hand (Trail or Pure Sequence), requesting a sideshow can eliminate one opponent without further inflating the pot. If the previous player refuses, the round continues — which often signals they are confident in their hand.
Set a Session Budget Before You Start
Decide on a fixed amount you are comfortable losing in one session. When that amount is gone, close the table. This is not pessimism — it is the most effective single habit for enjoying card games over the long term. mgame's 24/7 live chat support can point you to self-exclusion tools if you ever need them.
Try RNG Tables to Learn New Variants
When a new Teen Patti variant appears on mgame, try it first at an RNG table with a small stake. The rules often differ in small but important ways — for example, Joker Teen Patti adds a wild card that can complete a sequence or trail. Getting familiar at low cost saves you from expensive surprises at a live table.
